School Year Cooking Program:
September - May

September - May After a very successful and delectable cooking series offered over the years we have... decided to expand our palates and our selection to include a larger array of French Cooking classes. We are delighted to welcome our new “in house” pastry chef, Madame Nicole that the children will address as Madame Gâteau.

Here is her impressive bio:

“I graduated from the California school of Culinary Arts in Pasadena, Le Cordon Bleu diploma program

From there I work at a restaurant called Aubergine in Newport Beach doing both pâtisserie and fromager. I also worked in a French bistro, Troquet.

I've also worked for the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills as a baker. I spent the last 7 years working for Wolfgang Puck before moving to New York. I was the pastry chef of Spago in Beverly Hills, followed by pastry chef of CUT steakhouse in the Beverly Wilshire hotel.

I was selected to attend a special course taught by legendary French pastry chef Pierre Herme. I also trained at École Valrhona chocolat in Tain-l'Hermitage France. The premier chocolate of pastry chefs around the world.”

New this year will be Tuesday COOKING classes held three times per month and run for just a six week session ~ this will be a drop-off for 5 - 10 year olds to enjoy 90 minutes filled with culinary fun while also learning specific cooking techniques and tools. These Petits Chefs will enjoy learning French food vocabulary, singing French songs and playing games.

Cooking Class Descriptions:

Drop off Cooking Classes for Children ~

BiWeekly: Have your 5 - 10 year old child come to Wilton every other Monday afternoon for 90 minutes filled with culinary fun while also learning specific cooking techniques and tools. These Petits Chefs will enjoy learning French food vocabulary, singing French songs and playing games.

Monthly: Our very popular LE CLUB de Cinq "C": Cuisine, Conversation, Cine, Chants, Contes d'histoire will be offered for a fourth year one Saturday each month chez Madame Fox. In the intimacy of a private home, children learn to make French desserts, enjoy French conversation and a time with puppets, watch a little bit of an educational French movie, hear French stories and sing some French songs. What a fun and stimulating way for 3-8 year olds to spend a Saturday afternoon. Bon appétit!!

Franc-O-Feast pour les Femmes (et Messieurs!) ~
French Cooking for adults

In 2009 Franc-O-Fun introduced a new way to enjoy a Friday evening: cooking à la française with other ladies, a few husbands and a French Chef. We gathered in the charming kitchens of our hostesses for an extravaganza of chopping, sautéing, kneading, etc.. while learning and conversing in French. After having worked hard at learning new cooking techniques, methods and vocabulary for 2 hours, our gourmet three-course dinners never looked better as they were beautifully presented and thoroughly enjoyed with a variety of choice wines.

Join us either as a hostesse or as a participant every other month for this delightful gathering of French learners and gastronomiques! Call 203-762-5645 for a listing of dates and venues.
